Strolling Down Memory Lane

Normally, I don't participate in questionnaires or the random things that come my way via the internet, but I found this on my cousin Jessica's blog...and I really liked the idea. We all have such distinct memories of our friends and our families - ironically, I don't think they're the same memories. When I talk about a roadtrip, I'll remember "flying" with arms out the windows while someone else will remember the insane stories that came from "truth or truth." So if you have a minute, give the directions below a whirl--

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty cool (and funny) to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Just one memory, that is tough. Do I talk about water balloon volleyball or caffeine runs. I am going to go with freshman year. It was a weekend and we were feeling happy so we put on some tunes. We soon got a phone call from campus police because our music could be heard across the quad. That only made us more excited!

I remember watching Anne of Green Gables with you when we were in middle school? or high school? I forget, but I'm so glad you introduced me to Anne with an "e". I also loved your checkered cake that you would make and I still don't know how you do it.

You spreading latter-day joy by taking me to Costco for the first time ever was special. Now I feel like a real Mormon. Also, for about the first six months I knew Juliann, I couldn't tell the difference between you and her, so if you were together, I usually had to wait until one of you spoke to be able to tell who was who. The first time I ever met you at CV3, I had absolutely no clue which Hutchins was which Hutchins. Is that sad to say? I don't feel too bad admitting it because for a while she couldn't remember my name. Fact: That's where the nickname Left Handed Buddy came into play, because she couldn't remember my real name. This is a record breaking long comment. Rory Gilmore would enjoy it's length and detail.

My memories consist of a lot of cookie dough. But one thing that I have always treasured was serving in the RS Presidency with you. I remember sitting in your room for Presidency meetings and how together the spirit would direct us to what our focus should be as a presidency. I remember lots of laughter, tears and revelation taking place in those meetings. Love ya!

Jaclyn, I will never forget the letters you wrote me when I left for New Jersey. You made me one for each hour that I would be on the plane. I don't know anyone who puts the thought and love into such a precious gift. Thank You again!

Well, I don't have a blog so unfortunately you can't return the favor... but one of my favorite memories is you and your diet cokes in honors English senior year of high school. Notes and laughs got us through that long, long year. Can't wait to see you Saturday!

Hmmmm! So many memories..I would have to say the night we spent at your house for New Year's in high school and I reavealed all of my crazy Cat obsessions! I had never felt comfortable with anyone except family to truly act my wierd self..until I met you. Also, I'll never forget Cokes in Lornas foods class and the great conversations we had at that round table towards the back of the room. And last but not least Yogurt Park. You are one of the only people who would get as excited as I would about 6 new flavors a day! Sorry so long. Love ya!

Oh dear. It seems everyone has such amazing memories with you, Jaclyn, that no one knows what to write. Can I have 2? Sue Aldredge. I don't even know how she spells her name, but she will always have a place in my heart. You visiting me in Pokie was definitely a day to remember.
#2--Pulling an all nighter to drive to CA. Ok, so YOU pulled the all nighter, but I sure tried to stay awake. We went to Krispie Kreme before 7 am and then walked into your parents house with those donuts...oh, the looks on your siblings faces when they saw us!! Those were the days.

the conversation in CVHS oarking lot deciding to be roommates, the flour disaster in your kitchen making cc cookies, you sharing the checkered cake secret (mine never turn out as great as yours), saying goodbye before I left first semester (that was traumatic), flying off a cliff on a snowmobile, your closet drawers were always plastered with cool pictures (even in fifth grade), we started a home decorating binder when we first met of beautiful homes... okay this list wasn't worth waiting for. but! there's a few- more memories to be made!

Dang it. I wrote one a few days ago and it didn't show up...But here's a new one. One day when I was engaged and having a nervous breakdown, you came to my house and brought cookies...I wrote in my journal that night, "She is a wonderful, wonderful girl. I want to be kinder like her. I want to serve more and have the kind of effect that she has had on my life on someone else's." So, good job, charity lady.

I think the one thing that I love about you most is the way you talk, how you compose sentences, weird right? but you always sound smart, like you have things together, and comforting when you talk, so I love talking to you and hearing your take on things. I think the most stunning Birthday memory I have ever had was you leaving a whole checkered cake on my doorstep for my Birthday, seriously the best Birthday present ever! I really like cake. I loved the two minute drive from seminary to school and listening to the Mamma Mia soundtrack in your car. I don't know anyone as considerate and genuine as you, I love you so much and miss you.
