The pictures aren't the cutest, but the show was perfectly enchanting. We laughed, giggled, and ooed and awed at the magnificent actors, their timing, and their delivery. Shakespeare's much-loved comedy came off beautifully even with the rain that was pouring down on the groundlings (as the people who are standing in the pit are called) and the actors whenever they were on the front part of the stage.
Pictures during the show were strictly verbotten (we saw a couple people get asked to leave for ignoring that request), but the cast is definitely worth of your online perusal. Eve Best of "The King's Speech" and Charles Edwards of "Mansfield Park" were fantastic as Beatrice and Benedick, respectively. Joseph Marcell, who used to play the butler on Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, played Leonato and was surprisingly well cast. All in all, a great way to spend the evening. If you're in London any time soon, this is a must-see.
